The Time to Truly Learn Investing Has Come

The COVID pandemic has been a real beat down for all of us. At the same time it’s provided us a lot of idle time to explore learning new things, such as investing in stocks and ETF’s. The tools and apps have never made it more easier.

So you downloaded a trading app, setup an account and transferred a few dollars or Euros. You started dabbling in some stocks, as somebody on your social media feed or Tik Tok influencer hyped up a bunch of names. It started out all right and your portfolio was growing nicely. You think “hey this investing thing is really easy!” Unfortunately it then goes the other way. What do I do? Should I sell? Should I hold on? You buy some stocks you really had no business to be buying and they literally fall of a cliff.

You start to ask yourself, am I doing this right? Is this really how I should be buying and selling stocks and ETF’s?

You decided you need to increase your education and knowledge about investing. You’ve downloaded some investing e-books, followed some investing experts on social media and tried to get some tips from people in your social circle. You get bogged down by the terminology and volume of information.

Forward P/E ratios, Free Cash Flows. Exchange Traded Funds. What is this?

You’re overwhelmed.

You tell yourself, there has to be a better way to do this.

You’re not alone.

"When you first study a field, it seems like you have to memorize a zillion things. You don't. What you need is to identify the 3-5 core principles that govern the field. The million things you thought you had to memorize are various combinations of the core principles." -J. Reed

I want to tell you that investing is a lot easier than what the industry makes it out to be. You don’t need to get an MBA or memorize 100’s of formulas to be a successful investor.  If you can grasp some basic principles about investing and how wealth is created in our society, you will have a really good chance of making good decisions and make your savings grow meaningfully.

Wouldn’t it be great if you can work with a resource that will teach you the principles of making good investment decisions and provide you with a sensible, easy to use framework that will allow increase your chances of investing success rather throwing darts at wall and relying on dubious Tik Tok investing gurus?

I can help you.

Buying and Selling Individual Stocks? The Everyday Investing Series

The Everyday Investing program is a series of 8 online modules that will teach you the core principles of buying and selling stocks. The Everyday Investing program will make you more comfortable in evaluating stocks. You will learn the mechanics of investing. Mechanics though are not enough. With these mechanics we will overlay what we consider to be the secret sauce of investing; an enhancement and awareness of the behavioural aspects of investing which often become insurmountable barriers and negatively hinders our success. You’re going to learn all of this and then we will put it all together into a simple framework that will enable you to evaluate stocks more effectively.

The Program: What you will learn

In the Everyday Investing Program, you will learn to:

1) Understand principles on how companies create wealth and what drives stock prices. We use these principles to build on more specific investment competencies.

2) Read and interpret one of the most significant tools investors have at their disposal in evaluating stocks, the financial statements.

3) Use every-day macroeconomic measurements to better understand the business environment companies operate in.

4) Determine if a company and/or its stock is a risky investment.

5) Figure out of a stock is cheap or expensive.

6) Answer the 8 most important questions  you need to ask every time you are evaluating a stock.

7) Identify which investment products are appropriate for you.

8) Understand and be aware of the secret sauce that separates great investors from the rest, which is being more mindful of behaviours that an negatively impact our investment decisions and how to manage them better.

Learn How To Invest in ETF’s

You’ve been hearing about this investing product called Exchange Traded Funds or ETF’s and how it is quickly disrupting the whole concept of investing.

ETF’s have become one of the great disruptors in investing in the last 30 years. ETF’s are replacing mutual funds and to a certain extent owning individual stocks as a viable option for investors looking to grow your hard earned savings.

There are literally thousands of ETF products being sold and they come in all kinds of shapes and sizes and are marketed as a cheap low cost method to invest in a variety of asset classes and investment strategies.

ETF’s: Simple and Complex

Conversely ETF's have become more complex in nature. They are not like your grandma’s ETF’s of 30 years ago! The sheer diversity in ETF products that have exploded in recent years bring along with it complexities and tradeoffs that investors may not be aware of.

You want to learn more about ETF’s but where to begin?

My goal in creating and teaching this course is to go beyond just introducing you to ETF’s and showing how they work but more importantly to make you more street smart in evaluating them to determine which ones are appropriate for your portfolio. The course will examine different types of ETF’s available to investors as well as what they should be aware and on alert for when evaluating them.

The Course

After taking this course you will learn:

1) What is an ETF and how do they work?

2) What kinds of ETF’s are available?

3) What’s good about ETF’s and what is not good about ETF’s.

4) How to go about evaluating an ETF.

5) What you need to be on alert about ETF’s.
